Vice President of Technology Development
A 40+ person RegTech company · AML/KYC platform for institutional financial clients
- Own engineering strategy and roadmap for the majority of the product portfolio at a 40+ person company, working directly with the CEO, CDTO, product owners, and the business, BI and commercial functions on functional and commercial decisions.
- Lifted platform capacity from a monolith ceiling of ~100K to several million transactions and API calls per day — a 20x+ increase that unlocked institutional-client onboarding instead of turning that business away.
- Lead a 13-engineer organisation (8 remote, 5 on-site) across development, QA, DevOps and IT, while remaining hands-on in architecture.
- Designed and delivered a ~30-microservice monitoring platform start to finish, and led a team of 3 on a ~28-microservice onboarding system — a gateway layer (REST/gRPC) plus single-responsibility processors coordinated by SAGA orchestration.
- Led infrastructure migration from IIS to Docker to Kubernetes; own the edge, cloud estate, hosting and CI/CD pipelines across three build and deployment systems.
- Built a ~25–30 microservice agentic AI framework automating AML/KYC review, drove digital transformation including secure on-premise LLM deployment, and established the delivery process from scratch.

Senior / Principal Developer
The same company, before the platform was re-architected
- Built core AML/KYC screening capability and a large body of third-party integrations — leading global sanctions and adverse-media data providers, and eIDV and identity-verification vendors, among many others.
- Delivered government and municipality platforms covering document management, billing and payments, integrated with national and international payment providers.
- Worked closely with banking institutions on risk and compliance management systems.
- Wrote extensive ETL pipelines, SQL CLR assemblies, and a large volume of REST and SOAP APIs underpinning client data ingestion and third-party integration.

A production web application for an enterprise professional-services client
- Built and shipped a production web application using .NET, Aurelia, SharePoint and SQL Server.
